Must-have Skills Reception after trauma
Part 1: Traumatic stress and Posttraumatic stress. Symptoms and prevalence. Humanity as a top priority. Secondary trauma, delayed expression, suffering-on-suffering. Types of victims. Psychological First Aid: models. Defusing and debriefing.
Part 2: Accommodating victims from day 1 to 4 weeks after the event. Interventions PTS: WoT-regulation, nightmares, OEF-moment, OXO, The Fist, The Puzzle, Suffering-on-Suffering, Watchful Waiting. Reception of "first responders": debriefing. And how to stay afloat yourself in the storm,
In this course you will learn to cope with trauma victims - for those who deal with trauma at a later stage, this course helps to recognize suffering-on-suffering.
For
All social workers who care for victims during or shortly after a traumatic experience: medical and paramedical personnel, crisis counselors, psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, prevention counselors and HR managers, coaches.
Prerequisite for participation: having completed basic Trauma-Informed practice training, or equivalent training or experience
