Mother Ybe and daughter Lara are opening a webshop for psycho-educational materials together this spring, here you can read the story behind their joint venture.
Their journey began five years ago, when Ybe was still working on the manuscript of her book "Getting Stronger Where It Hurts. Together with atmosphere blaster Jill (Marchant), she was able to convince her daughter Lara to be the illustrator for the book.
In a co-creative process, more than 50 drawings were thus created, which made the theoretical parts of the book clear and understandable.
This created a visual vocabulary, which Ybe increasingly integrated into her practice and trainings. Lara, on the other hand, became increasingly familiar with the professional concepts surrounding trauma and developed a finely honed intuition for illustrating loaded and difficult concepts from trauma theory.
For Ybe's first trauma workshops, the two together developed a card set, which Ybe still uses and which is very much bought at her workshops.
When Ybe toured the Balkan route with her trauma bus four years ago, her first stop was Heidelberg, where Lara transformed her bus in the driveway into one big trauma info panel.
Back in Brussels, Ybe increasingly passes on her knowledge and experience in trainings and workshops; over the years, a wealth of psycho-educational material emerges; posters, slides, card sets.
"I get more and more inquiries about the material, which I use in my trainings," says Ybe, pleased, that with the new shop on this website, it becomes so much easier to share that material with colleagues and make it available to more people.
